Venus InfersOrange County, CA

Venus Infers comes from Orange County, but it is not an Orange County band. Our influences range from The Velvet Underground (who’s song ‘Venus In Furs inspired our band name), The Stones, Beatles, and Kinks to modern trendsetters like The Strokes, Kings of Leon, and Arctic Monkeys while avoiding sounding like so many tired, late-night pick-your-decade rock tribute bands.

The band features lead singer/songwriter Davis Fetter on guitar/vocals – your next Dior Homme’d version of Julian Casablancas. Next is Drummer Steve “Steisel” Wilmot – a classically trained Keith Moon. There’s Elliot Richardson on guitar/backup vocals – the elder statesman with the riffs and demeanour to impress even Noel Gallagher. And of course Richard Marion on bass/backup vocals – who looks and sounds as if he could be in the next Libertines.

Venus Infers is proud to celebrate the release of “Venus Infers…(the white album)” – the brand new 6-song E.P. Having gigged all throughout Orange County and Los Angeles including headlining gigs at Detroit Bar (a sold out show on 09.27.07), The Orange County Museum of Art (over 75 CDs sold in one night), The Troubadour, and The Viper Room (hand-picked by LA’s Indie 103.1FM). So far critics are saying Venus Infers is “Perking up the ears of industry kids everywhere with a new E.P. that they celebrated the release of last night at a very packed Detroit Bar. And truth be told, when you hear the hooks on ‘London’s Raining’ – which is as anthemic and memorable as anything coming out of the UK right now.” – LA Underground.

No strangers to local press, Venus Infers were featured in Riviera’s Super-Sexy Issue that stated “All members of the band are sexy-yes even the drummer! None of that would matter (much!) if they didn’t have talent, which the indie darlings in VenusInfers have.” – Riviera Magazine. Also, OC Weekly said “OC quartet VenusInfers may be the best band ever to pun on a Velvet Underground song title.” – OC Weekly.

Our music has been in consistent rotation on Indie 103.1FM and many college radio stations across the U.S. We featured tracks on compilation CDs from both Indie 103.1FM and TANKFARM Clothing. We have had our music heard on MTV shows The Real World and Road Rules, and
are currently in the works toward placements on primetime U.S., British, and Canadian television programs.
